Traxxeo or Trackary: which should you choose for your equipment fleet?

In brief

Traxxeo is a construction platform covering time and activity management, clocking, site access and tracking of material resources: assignment planning, geolocation, GPS trackers and telematics (vendor's site). Trackary, a CMMS dedicated to equipment, instead answers a workshop need: equipment maintenance, VGP inspections, field anomalies and mechanics' reports, including offline.

Traxxeo and Trackary both talk about construction equipment, but they don't do the same job. One organises where the machines are and who uses them; the other organises their maintenance. Here is a comparison based on what each vendor publishes, with a link to every source.

Traxxeo in brief

According to its site, Traxxeo lets you manage "your teams, your sites and your resources from a single platform": team planning, clocking, payroll, site access, document management and fleet tracking. The vendor cites references ranging from "SMEs to large groups" in construction, civil engineering, energy and infrastructure, and more than 250 customer companies (homepage).

For equipment, its "Material resource tracking" section describes geolocation (real-time position, fuel consumption, speed), GPS trackers and connected devices (IoT), and automatic allocation of vehicles and machines to cost centres (Material resources section), as well as an assignment plan for machines, vehicles and tools across all projects (Equipment fleet page).

Telemetry feeds hour meters, odometers and error codes; the tool allows a forward-looking schedule of maintenance plans and technical inspections, with alerts, and stores documents for each machine (Fleet management page). A press release published on its site presents Traxxeo, founded in 2008, as focused on construction companies from 200 to more than 20,000 people, and announces its merger with Alobees within Eternia Group (press release).

When to choose Traxxeo rather than Trackary

Traxxeo better fits your need if:

  • You want to know in real time where your machines and vehicles are, and to automatically capture hour meters, odometers and error codes via GPS trackers or telematics (source). Trackary does neither GPS nor telematics.
  • Your main concern is assigning machines to sites and spotting assignment conflicts (source).
  • You are looking for one tool to cover team clocking, payroll, site access and equipment (source).
  • You want to automatically allocate machine usage to cost centres (source).

When to choose Trackary

Trackary does not locate equipment: it organises its maintenance. It answers a different, or complementary, need if:

  • Your need is the workshop: machine records, inspection deadlines (VGP, safety equipment), maintenance logbook and a complete history per machine.
  • Your mechanics need to receive today's jobs on their phone and fill in a report with checklist items, observations and a signature, even without a network.
  • You want the field to report an anomaly with a photo, the part concerned and its severity, so the workshop manager can schedule it.
  • You manage road-rail vehicles with specific inspections (equipotential bonding test, RFN approval).
  • You want a clean PDF job report to hand to the client or the inspection body, without fitting boxes to the machines.
  • You want to see the tool on your own equipment before deciding: Trackary starts with a 30-minute video demo, then a no-obligation quote.

How to try Trackary (with or without Traxxeo)

The two tools don't cover the same scope, so they can also be used together: one for location and assignment, the other for maintenance.

  1. List your equipment with fleet number, category and hour meter. An Excel export is enough; our free equipment fleet spreadsheet (/outils/tableau-parc-materiel.xlsx) can be used as a template.
  2. Note down your inspections and their frequency; the free VGP tracking spreadsheet (/suivi-vgp-excel) helps you take stock.
  3. Request a demo to see the machine record, the technician schedule and the mobile app.
  4. Start with a few machines and one or two mechanics, then extend to the rest of the fleet.

If your need is primarily maintenance and compliance for your equipment, not its location, a 30-minute demo will show you whether Trackary covers your workshop. Request a demo →

Frequently asked questions

Is Traxxeo free?

Its site offers a free trial via a form (Free trial page), but no pricing is published: the Pricing page states that every deployment is built according to the features, number of staff and integrations (Traxxeo Pricing page, checked on 6 October 2026). The mobile app is free to download.

Does Traxxeo handle equipment maintenance?

According to its site, the solution allows a forward-looking schedule of maintenance plans and technical inspections, with alerts, based on telemetry (hour meters, error codes) (source). For details of workshop functions (job orders, reports), check with the vendor.

What is an alternative to Traxxeo for an equipment fleet?

It depends on the need. For geolocation and assignment, look for telematics or fleet planning tools. For maintenance, VGP inspections and mechanics' work, a CMMS dedicated to equipment such as Trackary is more focused. Our equipment fleet management software comparison covers several options.

Does Trackary have GPS or telematics boxes?

No. Trackary does not do GPS, telematics or QR codes. Hour meters are entered manually on the machine record. If real-time location is essential, Traxxeo or another telematics tool will be a better fit.

Can Traxxeo and Trackary be used together?

Yes, nothing prevents it: the two scopes are different. No connector between the two exists to date; the equipment list can be imported via an Excel file.
