Field app
The mobile app for equipment mechanics and technicians
The Trackary mobile app shows the mechanic today's jobs, the machine's record and history, and lets them enter their report and readings on site. Without a network, loaded data stays available and entries sync once the connection comes back. The office then sees the report in the machine's maintenance logbook.
With the Trackary app, the technician sees today's jobs, views the machine record and enters their report on site. Without a network, they carry on working.
Trackary is fleet management and maintenance (CMMS) software for construction equipment, aerial work platforms, forklifts and road-rail vehicles. It tracks VGP inspections, schedules maintenance and jobs, and lets the field report faults. It runs in the browser, on desktop as well as on a phone; the offline-capable mobile app is not yet published on the App Store or Google Play. It is quote-based. It does not carry out inspections and does not grant certification.
Paper job reports waste time
On many fleets, the mechanic fills in a paper form or sends a photo by message. The office then copies out the information, when it arrives. Details get lost, some jobs never get logged.
A mobile app for maintenance technicians removes this double entry. The report is written once, in the right place, and attached to the right machine.
The technician, meanwhile, wastes time calling the office to find out what to do, on which machine, and what's already been done. They arrive at a machine not knowing its history or which faults are still open.
What the technician does in the app
The app is designed for use in the workshop or on site, with simple screens.
Before starting a job, the mechanic sees the machine's history and any faults still open. They know what's already been done and can prepare their parts or tools accordingly.
- See the list of today's jobs
- Open the machine record: category, identifier, meter, compliance status
- Enter a report or job summary
- Record the hour meter reading
- Report a fault with a photo, as a major or minor defect
An app that works offline
On a railway track, in a trench or at the back of a depot, there's often no signal. In Trackary, data already loaded stays available offline: jobs, machine records, history.
The mechanic can enter reports and readings without a network. They sync automatically once the connection comes back. You just need to have opened the app with a network before setting off, so the data is loaded.
This is especially useful for road-rail vehicles and remote sites, where network coverage is rarely guaranteed. The technician doesn't lose their report because the connection dropped.
On the office side: timely tracking
The workshop manager schedules jobs on the web and assigns them to technicians. As soon as syncing happens, they see the reports entered, the meters read and the faults reported.
Every report joins the machine's maintenance logbook. The history builds itself with no re-keying.
The schedule stays the shared point of reference. If an urgent job comes in, the workshop manager places it in a slot and assigns it. The technician sees it appear on their list the next time they're online.
What Trackary does, and what it doesn't do
The app is used to organise fieldwork and record jobs. It's part of Trackary, alongside the web version for the office.
It doesn't carry out automatic diagnostics, doesn't read telematics data, and doesn't geolocate technicians or machines. It doesn't replace VGP inspections carried out by a competent person or inspection body.
Trackary is quote-based, after a 30-minute video demo, with no commitment. A 30-minute video demo lets you see the app applied to a real case.
