Aerial platform fleet
Maintenance software for aerial work platform (MEWP) fleets
MEWP maintenance software tracks, for every machine, VGP inspections (generally every 6 months), other configured checks, faults reported with photos, and jobs. In Trackary, the office schedules and the technician enters their report from their phone. The software does not certify that a MEWP is compliant.
Trackary helps rental companies and fleet managers track VGP inspections, faults and jobs for every MEWP. The office schedules, the technician reports from their phone.
Trackary is fleet management and maintenance (CMMS) software for construction equipment, aerial work platforms, forklifts and road-rail vehicles. It tracks VGP inspections, schedules maintenance and jobs, and lets the field report faults. It runs in the browser, on desktop as well as on a phone; the offline-capable mobile app is not yet published on the App Store or Google Play. It is quote-based. It does not carry out inspections and does not grant certification.
The constraints of an aerial platform fleet
An aerial work platform, or MEWP (mobile elevating work platform), is used to lift people. It is therefore tracked more closely than many other machines. VGP inspections are generally every six months for this type of equipment. Always check the interval that applies with your inspection body.
On top of that there are breakdowns, defects reported when equipment comes back off hire, and routine maintenance. Across a fleet of scissor lifts, boom lifts and road-rail MEWPs, tracking quickly becomes difficult without a shared tool.
For a rental company, it's also a commercial question. A MEWP with an overdue VGP inspection or a major defect must not go back out. You need to know this before preparing delivery, not at the moment of loading.
Managing your MEWP fleet in Trackary
Every MEWP has its own record, with category, identifier, hour meter and compliance status. You see at a glance which machines are up to date and which are coming due.
Deadlines to prepare for appear in a list, with alerts. The fleet manager can schedule internal checks and preparation work ahead of the inspection body's visit, instead of waiting until the last week.
- Tracking of VGP inspections and other configured checks, with alerts
- Faults reported from the field, with photo
- Defects classified as major or minor
- Job scheduling and technician assignment
- Job history and reports available per machine
Faults tracked through to resolution
A defect on a MEWP shouldn't get lost between a phone call and a sticky note. In Trackary, the fault is reported with a photo and a severity level. It stays open until it's dealt with.
The fleet manager can then schedule the job. The technician finds it in their app, carries out the repair and enters their report. The fault and the report stay in the machine's history.
When equipment comes back off hire, the technician can also record the hour meter reading and note any defects found. The information is available immediately to the office, which decides whether the MEWP can go back out or needs to go to the workshop.
What Trackary does, and what it doesn't do
Trackary tracks deadlines, faults and jobs for your MEWPs. It helps you prepare for inspections and keep a record.
Trackary does not carry out VGP inspections and does not certify that a MEWP is compliant. It replaces neither the inspection body nor the operator's responsibility. It doesn't manage CACES R486 training or driving authorisations, which remain issued by the employer. Nor does it handle rental invoicing or geolocation.
Getting started with Trackary
Trackary is quote-based, after a 30-minute video demo, with no commitment. A 30-minute video demo lets you see the tool applied to a case close to your own.
During the demo, we look at your fleet: types of MEWPs, number of machines, inspections tracked, workshop setup. You see in practice how the records, deadlines and field app fit together.
