DimoMaint MX alternative: which one for your equipment?
DimoMaint MX and Trackary both track the maintenance of equipment. According to its own website, DimoMaint even has a page dedicated to mining, quarries and civil engineering, with equipment maintenance, assignment by site and an offline mobile app (vendor site). Trackary focuses on the per-machine record, configurable deadlines and the technicians' job workflow; the right choice mostly depends on the scope you need.
Comparing DimoMaint MX and Trackary for a fleet of excavators, cranes, aerial work platforms or forklifts? DimoMaint's civil engineering offer speaks directly to this sector. Information gathered on 6 October 2026, with a link to every source.
DimoMaint MX in brief
According to its website, DimoMaint MX is a web-based CMMS available in Express, Standard and Full versions, covering equipment management, work orders, preventive maintenance, scheduling, spare parts stock and purchasing (DimoMaint MX page). The vendor states 30 years of experience, 2,500 customers in 100 countries and a 30-day free trial (home page); its FAQ states the solution suits "both SMEs and international multi-site groups" (FAQ).
It would be misleading to describe DimoMaint as a purely industrial tool with no link to construction sites. Its mining, quarries and civil engineering page describes maintenance of equipment (excavators, cranes, loaders, aerial work platforms, compactors), organising technicians' work orders, assigning equipment by site and working in "offline mode"; it also mentions VGP (Civil engineering page). Check in a demo how your deadlines and documents are configured in the MX edition on offer.

When to choose DimoMaint over Trackary
DimoMaint better fits your needs if your maintenance goes beyond the equipment logbook: spare parts stock, purchasing (requests and orders), maintenance contracts (source), several sites or countries (source) and connectors with other tools (source). Its pricing is published, which lets you cost a project before any conversation (source). If a machine stoppage means reserving a part, tracking its consumption and reconciling it with a purchase, these features deserve priority testing: Trackary does not have them.
DimoMaint should not be ruled out on the grounds that your sites have no network: its app works offline and synchronises data (source). Ask for a demo on a real machine: a request with photo, work order assignment, meter reading, document access and reconnection. Get it clarified what belongs to MX Express, Standard or Full.
When to choose Trackary
Trackary suits you if you want to start from the machine and the field teams' daily work. Each record brings together category, fleet number, hour meters, maintenance history and documents. You configure the inspections and their deadlines: VGP, safety equipment and, for road-rail equipment, the equipotential bonding test or RFN approval. Trackary lets you track these items, not carry out or certify a VGP inspection.
The technician can find the day's work orders, view the machine record and report a fault with minor or major severity, the component concerned, the finding and photos. Their report includes checklist points, observations and a signature; the work order report is available as a PDF. The schedule distributes work orders by technician, which helps the fleet manager link a report to an action and to the machine's history.
On mobile, information already loaded stays viewable without a network connection; entries and photos are synchronised afterwards. The web app needs a connection. Trackary is offered on request, after a 30-minute video demo. Trackary does not manage spare parts stock, invoicing, hire, GPS or telematics. If these needs dominate your requirements, DimoMaint's coverage of stock and purchasing deserves a close comparison.
Testing Trackary
The most useful comparison is to have both vendors run through the same case, rather than comparing feature lists. For example: an aerial work platform with an inspection due, a fault photographed, then a work order assigned to a technician with no network on their site.
- Prepare two machine records, their meters and documents, then an inspection deadline to look up.
- Ask for a demo, and run through the path from report to work order to PDF report.
- Check offline viewing on mobile and synchronisation once the network returns; do not assume the web app works without a connection.
- Compare what is included: Trackary is on request, with offline field app, hosting and support included.
